Members Code of Conduct

Studio Code of Conduct

The following is the Studio Code of Conduct for ClayLine Pottery Studio. The expectation is to have a clean, inclusive pottery studio. Please help us to make our studio a creative and collaborative space.

  • The studio is available for your use between the hours of 7:00 AM and 10:00PM.

  • As a member, you have been issued a unique door code. These codes are NOT to be shared.

  • After a month’s membership with our studio, you will be eligible to receive your door code.

  • You are under no obligation to respond to anyone requesting access to the studio (i.e., students, work people, potential customers, etc.).

  • Class students can request to stay in the studio after Allan, Fern or Susan leave. One of us will ask you, first, if you are willing to supervise the class members or close up after the new members. You are absolutely free to decline our request.

  • While we do have a cleaning service every other week, we need you to do your part by cleaning the areas you work in and a bit more – shared tables, wedging tables, sink, wheels, floor, your shelves, drying areas, member’s room etc.

  • We expect members to have their own tools and aprons, and to purchase their clay from Clayline Pottery only. Clay prices include studio time, glazes, and 2 kiln firings. Reclaim clay under the wedging table is primarily for class use, but it can be used as supports for trimming, etc.

  • Mark your pottery with a maker’s mark or name. Pottery that does not have a maker’s mark or name will not be kiln fired. Pottery that is left after your membership has lapsed will be kept for 6 months.

We welcome your feedback on any of our decisions and ideas. We feel your ideas are part of what makes for a rich, collaborative studio experience.

Thank you for joining Clayline P o t t e r y and doing all the things you do to make our studio a fun community-based creative space.
